The current Covid -19 situation has brought the entire world to a standstill, which lead to a partial or full closure of various firms and businesses and job losses running in millions. The education sector has also been hit pretty badly due to the pandemic, with 1.53 billion students out of school and colleges, impacting 87.6% of the world’s total enrolled students. The nationwide lockdown has accelerated the adoption of digital technology across various sectors and industries. The government is slowly opening up multiple sectors and taking measures to revive the economy; the schools, colleges, and universities have opted for digital classes instead of physical ones. Firms, businesses are adopting more digital ways for payment, training, working, and learning purposes.
Sharda University had also shifted its entire admission process online to admission the 2020 – 21 batch. Sharda Hospital has procured, installed, and operationalized an advanced RT-PCR testing facility in the Central Laboratory of the Hospital. The hospital also has 380 Isolation Beds, 20 Ventilator ICU Beds with dialysis support. Not only Sharda hospital, but the whole Sharda Group has also mobilized its efforts to reach out to the community and make the people aware of the precautionary measures to prevent Covid-19. Sharda Group’s Suno Sharda 90.8 FM is a community radio which has taken up the fight against Covid-19 and is awakening the society and making the people in the community aware through its programs via its newly launched wake-up campaign on COVID-19 #Nayi Shuruat in collaboration with Smart Foundation.
This awareness campaign aims to make the people aware of COVID 19 situation, its hazards and familiarize them with the preventive measures and means of precaution. The duration of this campaign is of 90 days, which has started on 21st September. This campaign will be carried out in three phases, in which people of the community will be made aware of the use of masks, social distancing, and then cleaning of hands in different ways.
Suno Sharda 90.8 FM is working not only from the studio but also at the ground level. Suno Sharda team has already made contact with some villages and towns where this mission is required. Suno Sharda 90.8 FM team went to Luharli village to make this mission successful at ground level also. After talking with the village Pradhan Mr. Bachchan, the team was apprised of his complete interest and support in the mission. The village Pradhan introduced the team to Asha workers of the same village. Together with Asha worker, the Suno Sharda team interacted with the villagers, made them aware of all the government’s guidelines, distributed masks to the general public for protection, and organized a community meeting with the social distancing guidelines being thoroughly followed. Suno Sarada 90.8 FM team’s efforts were praised on loudspeaker by villagers and District Officer Mr. Suhas LYG.
Suno Sharda 90.8 FM will continue to broadcast programmes under the campaign “NayiShuruat,” which is focussed on preventions and precautions as to how to keep yourself and family safe in unlock, ranging from Asha Worker to Health Specialist.
